水桶的一滴，就如杯水车薪，形容事情微不足道。

以赛亚是以色列南部的犹太先知，当时国王是希西家。希西家王的宫殿里装满了金银珠宝，香料，贵重的膏油，武器，等等其他的一切财富。以赛亚预言说他宫殿里的一切财富将会被捋到巴比伦，王位要拱手让给巴比伦王。在万能的上帝看来，他现在所拥有的只是像水桶里的一滴，上帝才是无所不知包罗万象的。
