Luke 8:3

meaning

The name is the Latinate form of Ιωαννα (Ioanna) and the feminine form of Ioannes (its English form is John), carrying the meaning of “God is gracious”. In the New Testament, Joanna was a follower of Jesus and the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s household. She, together with Mary Magdalene and many other women, helped to support Jesus and His apostles out of their own means.
