“Thy”는 “your”의 고어입니다. 하나님께서 처음으로 명하셨던 “네 이웃을 네몸과 같이 사랑하라”는 모세에게 명하신 여러개의 율법 중 하나였습니다. 그러나 어떤 율법이 가장 의미있고 중요한 말씀으로 간주될 수 있을까요? 이 질문을 제자들이 했을 때, 예수님은 “네 맘을 다하여서 하나님을 사랑하라…” 와 “네 몸과 같이 네 이웃을 사랑하라”(마가복음 12:31)보다 더 큰 계명은 없다고 말씀하십니다. 왜냐하면 이 두개의 계명은 모든 하나님의 율법과 특징을 요약한 말씀이기 때문입니다.
