「尺には尺を」という成句はシェイクスピアの劇の一つのタイトルでもあります。祝福の山でイエス様が弟子たちに与えられたメッセージがその由来です。師である自らがお教えになったのが、他人を決して批判をしてはいけないと言う事です。彼らが他人を量り、又批判した時には、彼ら自身が同じ様に量られ、批判されるからです。
