Bible Verse

1 Samuel 25:1

Meaning

It originated from the Hebrew name אֲבִיגָיִל (‘Avigayil) which stands for “father in rejoicing”. In the Old Testament, Abigail was Nabal’s wife who persuaded David not to revenge against the wicked and ungrateful Nabal because the bloodshed was needless and vengeance should be left to God. After Nabal’s death, King David married her as his third wife.
