في سياق اليوم، البكورية تعني امتياز وراثي.

إن البكورية او حق الامتلاك هو تقليد يهودي يخول الابن الأكبر للأسرة أن يرث ممتلكات أكثر من الأخوة الأصغر سنا. ويسمى هذا النوع من الحق مثل هذا لأن هذا هو امتياز وراثي للابن البكر.
