Bible Verse:
“O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.”(Psalm 8:1-2 KJV)
Today, words that are out of the mouths of babes are words from children that surprise you with their wisdom.
Origin and Application:
This idiom appears twice in the Bible. In Matthew 21:16, Jesus used this phrase as a reference to its previous appearance in Psalm chapter 8, a psalm of meditation. It is the children that chanted glory and praise for the Lord, but not the wise and the intelligent.
Keywords :
babe    suckling    wisdom
