Bible Verse:
“For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Matthew 7:2)
Meaning:
“Measure for measure” is an idiom as it is a title for a Shakespearean play. It comes from Jesus’ famous sermon delivered to his followers at Mount Beatitudes. Chief among his teachings, Jesus taught them not to judge others, or else they will be judged and measured the same way they measure others.
