Meaning:
“Nod” gradually became a term that carries the meaning of sleep, as in “nod off”. For example, he is in the land of Nod means he is asleep.

Cain was cursed by God for the murder of his brother, Abel. So he “went out from the Lord’s presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.” (Genesis 4:16) Where is the land of Nod?
