Bible Verse:
"If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
Meaning:
If someone has a cross to bear or carry, they have to deny oneself, to die to self.
Origin and Application:
In Luke Chapter 9, Jesus foretold his sufferings and death to his disciples. He reminded them that those who follow him must take up Jesus’ cross.
